Melbourne reveals itself slowly to those who look carefully. Edith, Yasmine and Bella lead the way

For most international students and tourists, famous attractions and downtown shopping malls are always their first choice for travel. Would you like to find something different in the hidden Melbourne? There are three sites we would like to recommend, they are a vintage store, niche brunch and classic cinema!

Shopping is an essential entertainment for a trip to Melbourne, but few international students visit vintage stores in Melbourne. And we found a very fantastic vintage store that wasn’t on Lygon main street. It was out of the way and hard to notice. Its location is 237 Lygon Street, Carlton VIC 3053. I believe It is extremely attractive for tourists due to its special design. The whole store is full of vintage elements, and is also decorated with the extremely bright colors. In addition to the nice clothes, the store also has a lot of nice sunglasses. Sunglasses were a must-have accessory in the 1980s, and they actually make the store  significantly cool.

What I like most is the spoon and the film slides inside the vintage store, the spoon is very delicate, and the slides are incredibly collectable, which they were priced is only one dollar for each. Moreover, the store also brought us many surprises, such as the different kinds of leather bags and various colors of berets inside.

Brunch

I interview some of my friends and based on their recommendation, I find a brunch in city: Humble Rays, located at 71 Bouverie St, Carlton VIC 3053

Location: Actually, this brunch is located at Melbourne CBD, so it is easy to find, it is open between 8am to 4pm.

Personal experience: As for me, the food is tasty and looked good. I went  to Humble Rays at 1pm and waited about 10 minutes.

The quantity of food is enough for two people. Apart from that, the service is nice, and the environment is suitable for people who want to post photos on social media. Taste and price is not very high, about $30  per person.

Cinema

Cinema Nova is an arthouse cinema located at 380 Lygon Street, Carlton District. It is in a bit of a remote location compared with the downtown cinema, and the size of is like a boutique. But it still could bring you a whole new experience because it is different from any movie theatre you’ve ever seen. Where this cinema really shines is its film schedule. The cinema will cater to a niche audience by showing films that no other cinema has, it means the selection of movies is various, not only blockbusters.

Furthermore, the decoration of the cinema is also extraordinary, such as the vintage sofa area and led neon lights.  As well as the candy bar, it is very novel that audiences can purchase alcohol and take it into the cinema. Then, it is worth mentioning that the seats in the cinema are also very comfortable. The classic cinema vibe is attractive for audiences who want to find a quiet place to chill.
